Music has always been a major part of my life, so I was ecstatic when Director Jeff Siebert approached me about DP’ing this series. “If These Walls Could Rock” is a love letter to some of the greatest music venues in the world, and we tried to create a visual language for the series that would would inspire a sense of reverence for these venues.

Luckily we had a great team, and the versatility of the Ronin 2 didn’t hurt either.

Chasing Wild is a premiere docuseries of four broken boys and four unbroken mustangs on an unpredictable forty day quest to escape their past. Removed from the shadows of prison, addiction, and the social labels of “lost cause,” with the help of a mysterious wrangler and an unlikely mentor, can the boys select, train, and ultimately ride a wild horse faster than the most experienced trainer?
Will this be another failure? Can they truly leave behind the life back home and the mistakes of the past? Raw, revealing, and redemptive, CHASING WILD asks: Is anyone too far gone for hope and healing?

“We just want it to feel FAST!” was the direction I got for the car-to-car stuff in this spot, which—when you consider it’s supposed to be Richard Petty towing that boat—makes sense. Some specialty rigging plus my Ronin 2 transformed our rented minivan into the exact car-to-car rig we needed for this spot.
